THE AID THE PALESTINIANS NEED THE MOST
April 2009 Newsletter
Three million pound appeal launched

Following the aftermath of the Gaza crisis, UWT sent a delegation to assess the needs of the victims. They found that the most effective way to deliver quick relief to our brothers and sisters in an area where the total infrastructure has collapsed was to give grants of a $1000 to each family.

UWT to date has managed to provide grants to 380 families and the target is to help a total of 5,000 families who have been most effected by the devastation.

A letter of thanks

Cash Grants

This is what the Palestinians have to say to those who have donated to this worthy cause:

In the Name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahe Wabaraktuh

I am Arafat Hilmi Mahmood As-Samouni

The Israeli army completely destroyed my house which consisted of two floors. Three of my brothers were killed with 15 of their children and their wives. They were the most respectable beings for me in this world. But all praises be to Allah that they are in heaven and this is an honour for me. I am really thankful to the Ummah Welfare Trust for its help and for it to stand shoulder to shoulder with us in these hard times. This financial aid was used for many of the basic necessities of life such as payment of rent etc.

May Allah bless you; our wishes are with you for good health.

THE PEOPLE OF GAZA ARE AWAITING YOUR DONATION. IF FAMILIES WORK TOGETHER AND EACH CONTRIBUTE 700 POUNDS, THEN WE CAN SOON REACH THE TARGET OF HELPING 5000 FAMILIES. INSHA-ALLAH.
